If you already receive the paper from the Court saying that your bankruptcy has been discharged you can call the bank and tell them that you already filed for bankruptcy and you included them in it(this was supposed to be done by your lawyer or whoever filed the bankruptcy for you) , they would ask you the file number and other important information and that should take care of your problem. If they haven't that is why they are still showing the account open and negative balance... I wouldn't worry about closing it, just open a new account somewhere before your bank adds you to Chexsystems (like a credit report for banks, only once your on you can't get off for 5 years and the only thing that banks care about is if you have a negative reporting or not).
